How to find an existing team or start a new team
Opening the door to team opportunities
Due to privacy policies, ASU and FIRST® do not match youth with existing teams. Instead, teams form independently within local communities and manage their own membership, meeting schedule, and funding.
We encourage those looking for a team to contact local schools, libraries or youth organizations that may have a team in place or are interested in starting one. You may be able to locate an existing team for your child by using the map below.
Another way to find a team is to use the FIRST® search tool.
If you cannot find an existing team nearby, you have other options to get your child involved in FLL. You can ask your child’s school if they would be willing to collaborate with you to start a team at the school. Often, a teacher or other educator is willing to step in to implement FLL as an after-school program.
And you can start your own team! The Arizona FIRST® LEGO® League community is here to support you every step of the way. Many FLL teams are volunteer-led, often by parents who take on the role of coach. These teams frequently meet in the coaches’ homes, making use of garages, basements or other flexible spaces. This setup gives teams the freedom to meet on their own schedule and provides a dedicated place to build, program and research without the limitations of school facilities.
Whether you’re part of a school, organization or just a group of enthusiastic families, there’s a place for you in the FLL community — and plenty of help available to get started.
